Most of the sugar maple grows in eastern North America and Canada. The maple trees reach a height of up to 40 m. In February these are tapped to scoop up the liquid gold. At this point in time, the weather conditions are perfect for the harvest: at night the temperatures are below zero and during the day the sun slightly warms the earth. Now the maple tree can transport the nutrients from its roots to the buds. However, only part of the sap is cut off from the tree (approx. 10%) so that it is not damaged. After the harvest, this is heated to obtain a syrup at the end, as well as the unique golden color and natural delicious taste.
Your maple syrup was harvested in the first 2 weeks of the harvest phase. In this harvest phase, the maple syrup is classified as Grade A. This maple syrup is particularly characterized by its amber color and particularly mild.
The sticky sweetener tastes great in muesli, tea or pankcakes. But also in hearty dishes with meat or seafood. The maple syrup also gives the salad dressing a special touch.
