We’ve liked Swedish brand Klippan for a long time and therefore were happy when they developed a throw made from 50% recycled wool, in an effort to eliminate waste during the production process. Therefore there may be a slight variation in colour from piece to piece in the subtly-striated Burst throw.
Klippan was founded in 1879 and back then specialized in producing yarn for hand weaving. Today, it’s focused on home textiles, and still uses only natural fibers like wool, linen and cotton.
The Kvam series is characterised by its playful geometry, which is based on the possibilities and limitations of jacquard weave. The motif clearly relates to the weave's horizontal and vertical directions, while the diagonal lines create rhythm and dynamics. The pattern can be associated with both Norwegian and Japanese motifs.

The FRI series are very much inspired by the Norwegian tradition of smaller rectangular table cloths called "løpere". You’ll find variations of these textiles in nearly every mountain cabin all over Norway.
In this new interpretation, the typical repetitive rhythm of colour is somewhat dissolved and the colours shift in a randomised, soft and meandering zigzag.
The name FRI refers to free time – time to relax and let go of expectations and stress.
