Espina Roja wird von der weiblichen Produzentin Ariana Buendia hergestellt und ist ein außergewöhnliches Beispiel dafür, was erreicht werden kann, wenn jüngere Produzenten ihr Familienerbe übernehmen. Der Markenname leitet sich von den leuchtend roten Dornen ab, die die Agavenwildnis schützt. Es wurden nur 250 Liter abgefüllt, was es zu einer superlimitierten Auflage macht.
Gezüchtete Agave zwischen 8 und 12 Jahren Maguey, lokal bekannt als Alto (Agave Inaquidens), wird innerhalb von 8 Tagen geerntet. Es wird dann insgesamt 10 Tage in einem mit Vulkangestein bedeckten konischen Ofenschacht gekocht und von Hand mit einem Holzkeulen gemahlen. Die Gärung wird 11 Tage lang in Tepetatgruben durchgeführt, denen der Pulque mit natürlichem Quellwasser zugesetzt wird. Anschließend wird es in einem philippinischen Destillierkolben aus Tannenholz destilliert.
Die Noten sind mineralisch und holzig mit subtilen laktischen Nuancen.

Recycled Nylon
Starting with our Spring 2022 collection, all of our ripstop nylon styles are now made with 100% recycled nylon filament yarn (up from 40% recycled before). This 100% recycled nylon yarn is produced from pre-consumer waste, which saves scrap material from being landfilled, conserves petroleum resources, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. -
Recycled Polyfill
The polyfill used to stuff all our Puffy styles is made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate), best known as the clear plastic used for water bottles. This recycled polyfill has passed the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) Certification.
